Nostradamus seer and prophet..
Nostradamus seer and prophet ..

In World War II, the Fellowship Press, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A., published a Nostradamusbrochure, entitled Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. Quatrains that Apply to Today
In Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the year of issue is not mentioned. In Nostradamus and his prophecies, Leoni wrote that this brochure was published in 1941.
[1] This year is also given on www.archive.org, a site upon which this brochure is available.[2] On page 1 in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. is printed that "three hundred and eighty-six years ago this coming autumn, a queer-looking individual walked into the printshop of Bonhomme, the Publisher, in Lyon, France". He wanted to have a manuscript printed, which contained 800 four-line verses with predictions for the next 400 years. On page 3, the handing over of the manuscript to Bonhomme is dated on 1555 (1555 + 386 = 1941).  On page 43, it reads that until the summer of 1941, 95% of the predictions of Nostradamus have turned out to be correct. From this, it can be derived that the final draft of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet..  dates from most early the first quarter and most lately the second quarter of 1941.
Not once in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the name of its author is mentioned, as is the case in Leoni's Nostradamus-bibliography. According to a member of the "Pelley club", which is active on the internet, Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. is written by William Dudley Pelley.[3]
Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. contains 48 pages. The text is divided in chapters and paragraphs, all without title, and is not lavished with illustrations. On the top of page 1, a headline reads Nostradamus - his life and prophecies. The picture on the cover (the head of a bearded man, gazing in a crystal ball), is made by a certain Hial, according to a member of the previously mentioned "Pelley club".[4]
On the back page of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet ... the readers are summoned to inform others about the truth by distributing copies of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. In 1941, they coud order at Fellowship Press, Inc. single copies for $ 0,25; five copies for $ 1,- and 60 copies for $ 10,-.

The intentions of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet ..
In Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the readers are informed about the life of Nostradamus. Important and sensational events in his life are described. Further, the way in which he compiled his Prophecies is described and quatrains are presented which, according to the author of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. are fulfilled. Also, future perspectives for the imminent and long-term future are given.
In Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., more than thirty quatrains are discussed. Three of them deal with the way in which Nostradamus compiled his Prophecies. Eleven of these quatrains deal with events in the past which were predicted in these quatrains, such as the decease of Henri II, the arrest of Louis XVI and the rise of Napoleon I. In short, 95% of the quatrains of Nostradamus were fulfilled between 1555 and the summer of 1941. There is no reason to contest the abilities of Nostradamus; he provides detailed predictions which contain concrete references to the names of people.
According to Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the quatrains are absolutely clear about the course and the end of World War II. Nostradamus predicted the independecy in 1776 of the U.S.A., the outbreak in 1936 of the Spanish Civil War, the rise of Hitler and his command to expel the Jews from Germany as well as the outbreak in 1939 of World War II. The Prophecies of Nostradamus show loud and clear that the downfall of England is at hand. Some American warmongers say that Nazi-Germany want to invade the Western world. According to Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the Prophecies of Nostradamus don't contain even the slightest indication for this, which means that the warmongers are belied. In England, where a bloody revolution will occur, and in France, the Jews will suffer heavily. Around 1944, a descendant of Henri IV, born illegitimately, will be enthroned. He will be called Henri V. First, his rulership will stretch out to Spain. From 1945, he will also rule Italy. At that time, either Mussolini or king Victor Emmanuel will die. Shortly before 1945, a new Pope will be elected, a Frenchman. He will choose the name Gregory XVII. Being ruled by Henri V and Gregory XVII, Europe will have a splendid period of peace and prosperity. Nazi-Germany will become their ally.
In 1999, the world will suffer from attacks from the East (Mongolia, Siberia), which are as violent as the invasions in the past by Djengis Kahn. Especially France will suffer. By 3420, this country is almost completely devastated.

Consulted literature
According to Leoni, Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. is a pro-Nazi propagandabrochure, based upon What will happen in the near future? (Stockholm, 1940), a national-socialist propagandabrochure which carries the author's name "Norab".[5] What willen happen in the near future? is one of the eight translations of Was bringt das Jahr 1940? Die Antwort geben uns "Les vrayes Centuries et Propheties de Maistre Michel Nostradamus" (H.W. Herwarth von Bittenfeld cs, Berlijn, 1939). Elsewhere on this website, this brochure is extensively discussed.[6] In the study upon which this article is based, the contents of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. were compared with the contents of What will happen in the near future?. The only correspondence between these brochures is that they announce the imminent downfall of England. Not one piece of text of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can be traced back to What will happen in the near future?. For example: the comments in both brochures upon quatrain 03-57. In What will happen in the near future?, the readers are told that in this quatrain, the declaration of war in September 1939 of England to Germany is predicted, as a result of the German invasion in Poland. According to this comment, this declaration of war is the last change in a series of seven, which began in 1649 with the beheading of Charles I. At the same time, there would be a crisis in Poland.[7] In Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., quatrain 03-57 is not linked to the outbreak of World War II. According to the comment in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the first change in the series of seven, mentioned in quatrain 03-57, was the coronation in 1558 of Elizabeth (Tudor); the seventh and last change was the Reform Act in 1852.[8] This interpretation can be traced back to the comment of Charles A. Ward upon quatrain 03-57 in Oracles of Nostradamus, which was printed in 1891 and reprinted in 1940, with the addition of a supplement regarding the present and the near future. Ward was the first Century-scholar who did this interpretation.[9]
Ward-1940 Nostradamus Seer and Prophet ..
does not contain a list of consulted literature. On page 24 of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the word "Halidom" is discussed, the last word of the first line of the English translation of quatrain 04-24. According to Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., Ward, a biographer of Nostradamus, suggested that this word, if written as "Halidame", is a reference to the Holy Mary. In the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, Ward's discussion of quatrain 04-24 and his ideas about the word "Halidom", which he himself had invented (!), is printed on page 204. That page also contains Ward's translation of quatrain 04-24. The English version of quatrain 04-24 in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can be traced back completely to Ward's translation in the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus. This is also the case in the English versions of 27 other quatrains in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. Six of these versions can be traced back to the supplement of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, a supplement which dates from 1940 and which perhaps is not compiled by Ward.[10] The fact that a number of English quatrain versions in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can be traced back to the supplement of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, excludes the 1891-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus.
Regarding the English version of quatrains in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. which can be traced back to the main text of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, the comment upon these versions in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can also be traced back to the main text of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus. For example: the discussion of the "Legis Cautio" and the quatrains 01-01 and 01-02. In Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., the "Legis Cautio" is discussed on page 5. The discussion begins with the remark that in the Prophecies of Nostradamus, the "Legis Cautio" is situated at the end of Century VI. Next comes a "necromantic formula", i.e. an English version of quatrain 01-01. On page 6, the interpretation of this version is printed. Next on page 6 comes the discussion of quatrain 01-02. This quatrain is numbered as "Century I, Quatrain I", to which we note that in almost all cases, the quatrains in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. are not numbered. In the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, the "Legis Cautio" is discussed on page 68. Next comes the discussion of a "magic formula", i.e. quatrain 01-01, correctly numbered. On page 69, under the headline The Magical Call by Water, a discussion of quatrain 01-02 is printed. This quatrain is numbered erroneously as "Century I - Quatrain I". In other words: in the parts of the text of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. which can be traced back to the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, a quatrain carries the wrong number, a fact which also can be traced back to the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus.
Regarding the English versions of quatrains in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. which can be traced back to the supplement of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, the comments in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. upon these quatrains can not be traced back to the supplement van Oracles of Nostradamus. In this supplement, the quatrains are not interpreted. It is up to the reader of Oracles of Nostradamus to find out to which future events these quatrains refer.[11]
The pages 7 and 8 of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. contain references to Le Pelletier, i.e. Anatole le Pelletier , the author of Les Oracles de Michel de Nostredame (Parijs, 1867). It is quite doubtful that the author of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. consulted Les Oracles de Michel de Nostredame. On page 7 in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., a part of the text in which Le Pelletier is mentioned, reads as follows:

M. le Pelletier, one of the biographers of Nostradamus, tells us that a pagan rite of the god Branchus was once practiced, corresponding to the aforesaid fatidical ceremony of the Lyons prophet.

In the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, this line can be found on page 70.
On page 8 in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .., Le Pelletier's comment upon quatrain 01-02 is printed, i.e. the comment as it is printed on page 72 of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus.

A number of texts in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can not be traced back to Oracles of Nostradamus, among which the texts about Henri V, Gregory XVII and the state of affairs in France in 3420. About Henri V and the state of affairs of France in 3420, information is given in the article Nostradamus in West-End in the issue of July 6, 1943 of the West-Indies daily Amigoe di Curacao.[12] Nostradamus in West-End contains texts which correspond with texts in Oracles of Nostradamus, but not word-by-word. Further, from an unmentioned source, texts were copied such as a line in which it reads that Nostradamus had foreseen the outbreak in 1914 and 1940 of the two World Wars and in both cases mentioned the year of outbreak. He also would have written that Mussolini would die in 1945. IN the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, not once Mussolini is mentioned, neither is it attributed to the Prophecies of Nostradamus that they contain the year figures 1914 and 1940. It looks as if the texts in Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. which deal with Henri V, Gregory XVII and the state of affairs in France in 3420, were copied from a book which contains lots of copies of texts of (the 1940-edition of) Oracles of Nostradamus. One feature of this book is that the time span of world history is estimated to be 7.000 years.
As far as I can see, these findings show that Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. is not, as thought by Leoni, based upon What will happen in the near future?, on the contrary. A large part of the text of Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. can be traced back to the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus. The texts regarding Henri V, Gregory XVII and the state of affairs in France in 3420 seem to go back to a book which contains many copies of texts, originally published in Oracles of Nostradamus.

William Dudley Pelley and the Prophecies of Nostradamus
William Dudley Pelley (1890-1965) was a journalist, spiritualist and in the '30's and '40's the founder and leader of the "Silver Legion of America", a right-wing organization which turned itself against Jews and communist and which opposed American involvement in World War II> When in the beginning of the '40', a number of Pelley's pro-Nazi brochures were found in the luggage of an American soldier, Pelley got arrested. In 1942, he was found guilty of eleven charges of sedition and was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. After his release in 1950, he focused himself upon religious activities. He changed the "Liberation Doctrine" which he invented in the '30', a mixture of pyramidism, rosicrucianism, spiritualism and theosophy, in a religion which he named "Soulcraft".[13]
After the war, Pelley claimed that he had contact with Nostradamus. In 1956, the Soulcraft Fellowship published a book, written by Pelley, entitled New Quatrains of the Modern Michel Nostradamus. Perhaps there is an occasion in the near future to examine if and if yes, in what way texts from Nostradamus Seer and Prophet .. return in New Quatrains of the Modern Michel Nostradamus.

  10. According to a tear of the dust-jacket of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, in this edition, edited by Ward, emphasis is laid on the prediction of present-day events and events in the imminent future.
On the pages 314 and 315, one can read: Since Ward, in the work to which this supplement is added, did not stress happenings beyond his own time, we felt it necessary to select a few of the oracles by which some elasticy of the imagination may be applicable to the current and forthcoming events. The reader may read into these additional prophecies anything he desires, or which his expert knowledge may substatiate or reject. We have supplied this reprint and supplement in response to widespread public demand, and we do so without identifying ourselves with the pros and cons of a controversial subject. This fragment suggests that the supplement of the 1940-edition of Oracles of Nostradamus, with its quatrains in connection with the state of affairs in 1940 and the imminent future, is not compiled by Ward, but by someone else. [text]

  11. Ward-1940, p.313-314: We have selected a few verses from his work which may well be applied to the present and to the days immediately to follow. We have made no attempt to interpret them or to supply names of contemporary men. Our task has been that of giving a literal translation of the old French text. The reader is invited to make his own interpretation. It seems that the present war is described, that Nostradamus has foretold both the airplane and the submarine with amazing accurary. The present plight of France and England is apparently predicted in more than one graphic instance. [text]
